03 · Method
How Basis reads the gap.
- 01Reference. Each Robinhood stock token has its own Chainlink feed on Robinhood Chain. Basis reads it on-chain. It already includes dividends and splits.
- 02On-chain. Every DEX pool holding the official token with at least $5k liquidity, priced in USD. Pools more than 25% off are treated as broken and left out.
- 03Gap. The on-chain price where most of the liquidity sits (a liquidity-weighted median), against the reference. One odd pool can't move it. Pool spread is how far the cheapest and richest pools disagree.
- 04Only official tokens. Each contract is checked on-chain against the official Robinhood token code. Copycats never reach the board.
When Wall Street is closed, the feed holds the last price, so a gap can simply be the market pricing in news. Nothing here is financial advice.
